My Car's Been Around

room of sound
an inside out
was way out there

being old
now is here
my car is not a fool

you love to walk
you want a car
I like your curiosity

my car is warm
your walk is free
your home is where your head is

my car is day
may day
the owl is on the tree

you wait for me
volatility

U turn
given over
moving gets me

rustic wind of autumn
clarity’s relaxing
relaxing by the sea

rear view
grey green blocks
other cars

locust leaves sticky
click on the wipers
there go yellows

Rose

one I loved has virtually no response when I tell him something
sad, freeing me to exist in a world in which
the specifics of life are a higher moral calling
happy and high am I to be there then

— red rose in the back of the mind

Bonnard red

tangerine glow this dawn turns gold

tangerine glow this dawn turns gold
white cloud series, at bottom charcoal oval
and clouds move quickly, uniformly fast

the bird noises bring me in to another sense

what we’re given —
blue sky, moving clouds, creatures that sing and fly —
on this particular planet til we die —
nothing familiar then greets us —
